Overview of the workshops

Workshop 1: "Corporate social responsibility"

In today’s business world, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an intricate part to the company’s success. There is a movement for change and companies must form to succeed. For a common goal of sustainability, we must see what is happening globally and learn from the challenges and achievements others have made.

In this workshop, we will look at how CSR is evolving in different parts of the world and what has been done to go forward in this movement of change. The workshop will give the platform to exhange ideas and find similar strategies. The goal of the East West Forum, as well as this workshop, is that you take with you inspiration, awareness and an extended global networking team.

Workshop 2: "Global communication"

The (technical) revolution in communication has globalized the world to an interdependent community. Due to digitalization the world has become a global village beyond national boundaries. We all are part of this village as global citizens. It has never been so easy to interconnect and network with our business partners, fellow students and friends worldwide. We’ve become ‘information crazy’ and are getting addicted to our digital tools. But do we know each other? Can we always be sure that our partners receive our message in the way we intended to? Poor communication is often the core of every global problem we are facing today.

In this workshop we discuss opportunities and barriers of global communication based on short cases. We talk and reflect on how cultural barriers affect global communication and derive recommendations for an effective and successful global communication.
