Target group and procedure

  • Are you an international student planning to study full-time at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences next semester or the semester after?
Then we are the right place for you!
  • How does it work?
We meet online once a week for 1.5 hours. Here you will learn important information about German culture, German customs and various everyday topics that will be relevant in your later stay in Germany. At the end, each course participant must give an oral group presentation as a reflection on the course content and topics learned. The last workshop and the final presentations will take place in presence.
  • What's in store for you?
A mix of different learning methods such as case studies, partner and group work, discussion groups, videos, quizzes and self-study material. In other words, a lot of fun!
  • What is the benefit for you?
You will learn a lot about "the Germans" and about the most important topics as a student in Germany. This will prepare you in the best possible way for your future studies in Mittweida, expand your English vocabulary and get to know the other foreign students in advance. After successful completion of the entire module, you will then receive 2,5 ECTS.

  • Who is the course not intended for?
For international students who only want to spend an exchange semester at the Hochschule Mittweida. You must be enrolled for a full-time course at HSMW.
