Study structure

How does the study program work?

The master's program comprises a total of four semesters of study (three theory-oriented semesters, including research and development project, as well as the master's semester, in which the master's thesis is to be prepared and defended). Students acquire a total of 120 ECTS. To complete a double master, you will earn at least 30 ECTS at one of the partner universities.

The first semester takes place at partner university. Semesters serve to broaden knowledge in two basic profiles, an engineering- and science-oriented profile and an economic profile.

The second semester takes place at the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida and serves the specialisation "Innovation & Business Expansion" with 4 core modules:

  • International Management
  • Risk Management and Venture Capital Enterprise
  • Business expansion
  • Innovation management

The third semester is focused on research and development project. The semester can either be completed in Mittweida, at one of the partner universities or at any practical partner worldwide.

The scientific graduation takes place in the fourth semester with the preparation and defence of the Master's thesis. For a double degree, the Master's thesis must be submitted in English at both universities
